It was found that the composition of these die were of different animal bones and ivory. Dice used throughout history were made in different shapes and sizes whereas the modern day dice were usually cubical shaped. It is believed that dice was introduced by Marco Polo in Europe.

Rules:
Poker Dice is one of the most famous dice games. A standard dice used is a six-sided cube made of plastic.
The dice display representations of playing cards instead of numbers. Each of the six sides represent Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten and Nine that are used to form a Poker hand.
The values in order of rank are Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten and Nine.
The object of the game is to make the best poker hand combination from rolls of the Poker Dice. Every player antes up into a pot before rolling.
Each player then rolls five dice at their individual turns and tries to get the best combination with maximum points in different rows.
Each player makes three rolls of the dice and can save any one dice from the previous roll. Once a dice has been placed aside, it cannot be rolled again for that player’s turn.
At the end, the player who gets the maximum points wins the game.
The game begins with no score for all the players. At the start of the game, the dice is rolled and the player decides which row has the best combination.

Scoring of Points for Poker Dice
To understand how points are distributed, there is an explanation of 13 rows in a table and their descriptions below to show the scores and the method of calculation.

Ones – Sum of all 1’s in a row.
Twos – Sum of all 2’s in a row.
Threes – Sum of all 3’s in a row.
Fours – Sum of all 4’s in a row.
Fives – Sum of all 5’s in a row.
Sixes – Sum of all 6’s in a row.
3 dice of one kind (3 or more dice of the same number) – Sum of all dice with same number
4 dice of one kind (4 or more dice of the same number) – Sum of all dice with same number
Full House (3 dice with same number + 2 dice with same number, and the condition is both numbers must be different)=25 points
Small straight (a straight of 4 or more identical dice example 9-10-J-Q-K)=30 points
Large straight (a straight of all dice)=40 points
5 of a kind (all dice with same number)=50 points
Chance (any dice combination can be used)=a sum of all the dice.

The scoring and points table above is applicable only if the dice combination fulfills the row conditions mentioned. If the condition does not match, the player receives no points.

Poker Dice Strategies:
One strategy is if a player is not satisfied with the combination on a roll, he/she is allowed to select one or more dice and attempt another roll with the dice chosen.
This game strategy is allowed to be used a maximum of 2 times and after that, the player must choose the resulting combination without making any changes to it.
As mentioned, using the dice is mandatory even if the roll does not yield any scores for the player. The player must use the combination and at the same time, it ensures that every game has its share of 13 moves in accordance with the rules.

Poker Dice made its entry as a popular game worldwide because of a blend of skill, cards and sports gambling. Additionally, with the introduction of online play, this game is accessible and can be played competitively in groups and at several levels of skill.
